Dr. Aysenur Ates is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the NEIT Lab with expertise in phase change heat transfer and surfactant-driven fuel transport. She earned her M.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabancı University, where she enhanced boiling heat transfer using engineered surfaces, and her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, where she combined nanoscale characterization with macroscale studies to design PFAS-free firefighting foams. Her research bridges multiscale heat and mass transfer with applications in sustainable thermal-fluid systems, focusing on energy, safety, and environmental protection.
